Fundamental to what we do is the integration of energy-efficient components into the building and ‘eco’ landscaping strategy. In every master plan we aim to minimise environmental impacts and cost- effectively maximise future sustainability. Specifically this involves optimising building material selection to address issues of insulation, shading, daylight, thermal mass and natural ventilation. This approach also incorporates rainwater harvesting and the smartest use of recycled materials. For Park Ridge Primary we were awarded a National Energy Innovation Award. The first stage of Wangaratta High School was recently selected by the Victorian Department of Education as a five star energy pilot submission to the Green Building Council.
